Salman Khan & family not in Rajinikanth's good books

Actor Salman Khan, who has gained much popularity down South owing to the action roles and being a part of South remakes, seems to have got into the bad books of Rajinikanth and family.

It all started with Atul Agnihotri, Salman Khan's brother-in-law going public about his intentions to make a biopic on Rajinikanth. There were also talks that Salman would play Rajini in the biopic. This hasn't gone down too well withSoundarya Rajinikanth, daughter of Rajni, who is a filmmaker in her own right.

While she has tried to contact Atul several times to discuss the matter, she claims that she hasn't got any response from the filmmaker, who now claims that Salman Khan was never being considered to play Rajni.

Soundarya also maintained that a biopic on her father was not an affair to be taken lightly and that talks with the family were extremely essential if anything was being done about it.

This apart, there are talks that political party HMK will not allow Sallu entry into Tamil Nadu, even if he is being invited there as a special guest of the Tamil remake of Dabangg, Osthe. We thought it was an expression of ire for his bro-in-law's wish to make a biopic on the legendary Rajinikanth. However, this protest is for Salman Khan's visits to Sri Lanka when there were strained relationships between the Sri Lankans and Tamilians.

So, the Khan family needs very much to come out and speak up before things go awry in these not so pleasant circumstances.

Bodyguard Sequel.

Buzz in the trade circles suggests that actor Salman Khan, 45, will be seen in a sequel to his last hit film, Bodyguard. Atul Agnihotri, Salman’s brother-in-law and co-producer, says: “It’s a possibility. As far as Bodyguard goes, the story can be taken forward. Lovely Singh (Salman) is a bodyguard, so he can fit any situation or genre. And he isn’t married nor does he have kids. But we haven’t begun thinking on those lines yet.”

Inspired by his digital poster plans to have one as well

Salman Khan's Yashraj Film Ek Tha Tigerunveiled its first look through a digital poster. Rather than a regular film poster the production house used the technology of the digital poster for the film. Now, Aamir is also planning to release a film poster for Reema Katgis film which will be digital.

A source reveals the idea came when Aamir saw the poster for Ek Tha Tiger and was quite impressed with the way it looked. "Aamir is thrilled with the concept of using a digital poster. He's going to sit with the creative team and work it out. Since he's hands on with every project he plans to get involved in the creative process of making the poster as well."

SALMAN KHAN , AAMIR KHAN ARE MY SENIORS - SHAHRUKH KHAN

They may not be the best of buddies anymore, but thebaadshah of Bollywood has a soft corner for the reigning Bodyguard of the film industry.

Shah Rukh was his loquacious best while replying to a query on what he felt about the "phenomenon that is now the new Brand Salman
Khan", at the 'Express Adda' event, hosted by the Indian Express, in Mumbai last night.

"These are my senior actors. They were working in films (for) about four years before I came. Aamir and Salman. Everybody keeps talking about us, the triumvirate," SRK said.

"We were as friendly as could be. And at times very close, I believe. Aamir, myself and Salman, we shared some really good moments. We used to go for drives and stuff like that. Sometimes you realise that a lot of proximity, closeness brings about you know... too much familiarity and we step on each other's toes."

Shah Rukh said, "To me, any star who does well, is fantastic. Audiences love the way he (Salman) dances. I can't do that. It does not mean I can deride it. I have seen Dabangg and I think it is a fantastic film."
"To be reigning for 24 years as a movie star is a great achievement. I wish, when I grow up, I will also become a great star like one of these boys," he said.
"I have a huge amount of appreciation for anyone who has achieved any kind of stardom. When it comes to someone like an Aamir Khan or a Salman Khan or even the younger boys, I think you have to sit back and say, wow, it is very cool and just appreciate it.
The actor, whose ambitious venture RA.One releases next month, said, "the pressure encourages you to think, that I am gonna try harder and match upto it. You have someone to look upto. I am humble enough and great enough to accept that," he said.
"People believe that because the relationships have soured over the years between some of us, one would not appreciate the stardom (of others)," he said.
Asked if he would join politics, Shah Rukh said, "I want to die an actor." "This profession takes up all my time. When I meet politicians, everybody believes I am joining politics. I say, why don't you believe they are joining films," he said.

Protest against Salman ?

While the Osthe team is planning to rope in Bollywood star Salman Khan for its audio launch or premiere, now, it looks like they may have to think of other celebrities for the event.

For, the Hindu Makkal Katchi (HMK) is planning a large-scale protest if the actor visits the city for the event.

Says Kannan, secretary - HMK, "We will definitely protest against Salman Khan, who offended the sentiments of Tamils all over the world by visiting Sri Lanka twice despite being requested not to do so by various pro-Tamil organizations." He says that the actor went for an awards show while his Bollywood peers like Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan refused to go on humanitarian grounds. "He even had the gall to later shoot for a film in that country, which has been carrying out genocide against the Tamil population living there. And during that visit, the actor also toured the country with Mahindra Rajapakse, whose action even the European nations and the US have condemned," he adds.

Kannan says that it is surprising that Simbu is planning to invite Salman, "while his father T Rajendar has been protesting against the atrocities against Tamils in Sri Lanka."

Quiz him on why the outfit was silent when the actor visited the city to launch the audio of stuntmaster-director Vijayan's Markandeyan and Kannan says that would have protested if they had received that information beforehand. "We did protest during the release of Kaavalan, which starred Asin, who went to Sri Lanka to shoot for Ready," he claims.

So, what does the outfit hope to achieve with such protests? "Tamils all over the world are fighting to get justice against the draconian Sri Lankan government. Our protests will lend weight to their cause," says Kannan.

I'd love to work with Salman Khan: Hollywood actress Milla Jovovich -

Salman Khan's popularity seems to have infected Hollywood too. Actress Milla Jovovich has not only seen the Bollyood star's " Bodyguard", she is also impressed with his sturdy looks and would love to work with him. "I am really very convinced with the growing affinity of Indian audiences to action films. Recently I got an opportunity to view 'Bodyguard' of Salman Khan, and I am really amazed with his sturdiest look in the movie and the action scenes played by him," said Jovovich in an e-mail interaction.
"I would love to work with him if given a chance," added the actress who will be seen in " The Three Musketeers", directed by her husband Paul W.S. Anderson.
She loves doing action sequences herself. "I just love watching beautiful women kick butt. It's so inspiring. You know, as a kid I never got off on seeing big, muscular men with guns. But women doing martial arts seem very natural," said the 35-year-old, who has films like "The Fifth Element", " Zoolander" and " Resident Evil" series to her credit.
"People love me doing action movies and that's awesome. I am very serious about my career and I still get to do my independent films. I'm very happy," she added. The film, releasing Oct 14, talks about Porthos, Athos and Aramis who served the king of France as his best musketeers. After discovering an evil conspiracy to overthrow the king, the musketeers come across a young, aspiring hero, D'Artagnan, and take him under their wing. Together, the four embark on a mission to bust the plot that not only threatens the crown, but the future of Europe itself. Shot in 3D, "Three Musketeers" will see Jovovich as Milady de Winter and the actress is quite upbeat about her role. "For me, one of the most interesting elements about Milady de Winter is that she's this unbelievably modern 17th-century woman. Imagine how hard it is for a woman to get a leg up today in the corporate world, or any field," said Jovovich. "She is a woman navigating a man's world when normally women were dependent on their father, son or husband. You couldn't even have your own finances. She travels unattended to different countries, she is a spy and she is the best at what she does. She doesn't want to marry and have kids and move to the country," she said. Jovovich says this is a different version of the "Three Musketeers" and that: "It's completely new and people have never seen something like this before... it showcases the new generations of three muskeeters which takes the spirit of the book and imagination and theme with the help of writer and director and the 3D concept." "Paul really comes with a different concept with this movie and no one has ever done a period movie in 3D and the concept and story suits very much to period gardens, costumes and the nature and back-drop of the movie completely take you to the period's time," she added.

Salman Khan Is Worldwide Number One in bollywood now

Ready made Salman Khan the number star one at the box office in India as per opening boxoffice collections and now Bodyguard has put him at the top Worldwide as per opening collections.
He is not on top in the Overseas market but he is so far ahead in India that it also gives him a huge lead Worldwide as India forms 80% of the theatrical market today. Its a case of having a volume of films and all opening to bumper collections and if it keeps on going this way, he is unmatchable as the other stars competing like Aamir Khan and Shahrukh Khan don't have the same volume year in year out.
The guy who does have the volume Akshay Kumar, is not opening at bumper levels like a few years back apart from the occasional film. Shahrukh Khan is down to fourth in the domestic rankings as both as Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is nearly out of the system with it coming up to 3 years since release and My Name Is Khan also loses points on a monthly basis. At the moment Salman Khan is only competing against himself at the boxoffice.

Salman Coming Back to MUMBAI

Salman Khan, it appears, is keeping his commitment to the makers of Bigg Boss.

The actor, who has been in and out of the country either for medical treatment or his film shoot, will definitely be present to launch the fifth edition of the reality show with his co-host Sanjay Dutt.

Says a source, "He has confirmed his arrival date to India and also his presence at the Bigg Boss launch event." Khan will apparently be back in Mumbai this Thursday.

He arrives in time to start shooting for Bigg Boss 5, which goes on air on October 2. He is slated to launch the reality show at a special event to be held at Mehboob Studios on Thursday evening along with Dutt.

Khan will also travel to Karjat for the shoot of the reality show over the weekend where the Bigg Boss house has been set up. Sallu had left for his medical treatment in the last week of August.

He then directly reported for his shooting schedule in Ireland for Ek Tha Tiger. He had stated on a micro-blogging site before his departure: Challo see you guys.

On my way to fix the short circuit in my nerve... take care.

For now, at least, his nerve issue seems to be under control. And, if the promos of the show is anything to go by, the camaraderie between the two hosts should be fun to watch.

Esha Deol, Salman Khan's CHEMISTRY

Esha Deol on the equation she shares with Salman Khan. The two shot for a song in Tell Me O Kkhuda

Salman Khan and Esha Deol reunite (for the first time since No Entry) for Hema Mailini's Tell Me O Kkhuda if only just for a song. The track called Somewhere Someone Is Missing You has been choreographed by Bosco-Caesar.

Esha recounts how Khan got on board, "Mom met Salman at an event a while back and he had promised to work in her film. We had forgotten all about it. One day, I was shooting at a Bandra nightclub and Prashant, a common friend of ours, came on the sets to meet me. The next thing I know I get a call from Salman at 11 pm that day, saying he is going to be part of the song and wanted to know when to show up. He came by the next night sharp at 11.30 pm as promised and finished shooting in a few hours without rehearsals!"

She adds, "We have always been very friendly. The funny thing is that I call Salman bhai while he calls me beta so after every take, we would crack up. What's amazing about him is that even when he was going through so much pain, he came and shot without any fuss."

About the song, she notes, "My good friend DJ Aqeel has remixed the song and Anushka Manchanda has sung for it. It is a peppy naughty-but-nice number, set against a nightclub ambience. I've got superb reactions to the track on my microblogging page. My sister Ahana has loved it. I think Salman and I share sizzling chemistry and that we both look very good together. Also there's a good comfort level between us."

SALMAN-KATRINA EX-LOVERS BONDING AGAIN ?

Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif may be ex-lovers, but according to the grapevine, both the ex-lovers are again bonding on the sets of Yashraj’s ‘Ek Tha Tiger’.

Salman has resumed shooting for Kabir Khan’s ‘Ek Tha tiger,’ post his surgery and is shooting in Dublin. The actor was suffering from a nerve disorder and after recuperating from illness, the dedicated superstar got back to shooting for his latest flick.

While Katrina is taking good care of Salman’s health, he is not far behind in showing affection towards Katrina. In fact, while shooting one of the scenes, Katrina fell from the cycle and Salman immediately rushed to her rescue before anyone else could.

It seems, Salman still has a soft corner for Katrina and the ex-lovers are really bonding well on the sets.

Esha Deol Tweets About Salman - Another Big Salman Fan

Girls are gaga over him already and the latest one to join the long trail of Salman Khan's fan list is Esha Deol. Esha can be seen raving about Salman Khan, who has put in a special appearance in her forthcoming release Tell Me O Kkhuda', these days.

Esha is in love with, well….. almost everything about DabanggKhan however, Deol revealed five things that make her completely bonkers about him on Twitter.
Her tweets were titled 'Five Things I Love About Salman'.

She wrote, “1- I love how generous he is. 2- there's never a dull moment around him. 3- how respectful he is. 4- his dogs. 5- His item number in TMOK.”

We wonder whether she really finds him so alluring or if it's just a way to thank him for the 'special item song'. But it can also be a path that she is paving to get into Salman's good books….

Salman, Aishwarya, SRK to travel together

It's a known fact that Bollywood stars are famous across the globe. But who would've thought that their wax figures would get as big a response as the stars themselves? That's exactly what's going to happen on foreign shores next month. This is a first-of-its-kind exhibition for the world-famous museum, allowing fans across the globe the chance to see their favorite Bollywood stars immortalized in wax. A special Bollywood room is being created within Madame Tussauds Blackpool for the event, where a week-long series of activities will take place alongside the exhibit.

The exhibition will kick-off in Blackpool on October 8 and will run until December 28. After Blackpool, the exhibition will move to Bangkok and other cities, including London, Hong Kong, and other places across Europe and USA. Salman Khan With Family - Rare Unseen Pictures

Want to work with Salman Khan: Anushka Sharma

Anushka, 23, feels that rumours of link-up and break-up only create problems in the cordial relationship that the two actors share. The actress is sharing the screen with Ranveer in Ladies vs Ricky Behl. In a recent interview, Anushka was quoted as saying that Ranveer cannot be trusted

but the actress said she was quoted out of context. "Ranveer is a very good co-actor and I have a lot of respect for him. But he's impulsive at times. That's why I once said that he can`t be taken seriously and media took it in another way. He says something one day, and something else the next," Anushka clarified.
The actress, who debuted with Shah Rukh Khan starrer Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, is reteaming with the actor in Yash Chopra's comeback project.

"I am happy that at such a young age I will be doing a film with three big shots -- Yash Chopra, Shah Rukh Khan and Aditya Chopra -- in a film. It is a dream offer for any actor and I am lucky to be the one," she said.
After working with Shah Rukh and Akshay Kumar, Anushka now wants to work with Salman Khan. "I have been very fortunate that I am getting to work with good actors. I don't have to go asking for roles. I am a huge fan of Salman and would love to work with him. He has got a different energy all together and I have heard that he's a good human being too," Anushka told reporters.
Asked about the catfight brewing between her and Sonakshi Sinha over Ranveer, the actress termed it as mere gossip. "I am at a very good stage of my career and such rumours put a question mark on my upbringing. Sonakshi is a brilliant actress and she's just a film old in the industry. I wish her a lot of success," she said.
Anushka walked the ramp on the concluding day of Blenders Pride fashion tour held in Delhi as the showstopper for designer Wendell Rodricks.
"Wendell discovered me as a model and actress. When I was not a renowned face in modelling, he gave me a chance in Bangalore to walk the ramp as his showstopper and that's how we share a strong bond with each other," she said.

BIG is the 'mantra' for Salman films now

As Bodyguard has now turned into the highest grosser ever of Salman Khan by crossing the Rs.140 crores benchmark set by Dabangg, his other films are taking a note of that already. While Ek Tha Tiger is already turning out to be huge, Dabangg 2has been held back for some time and Sher Khan is giving itself some time before it goes on floor, Kick is on the job by getting its act in place to become bigger and better by the time it is ready to arrive.

"It is more or less a mandate that his films have to be mounted on a huge scale since nothing associated with Salman can be small anymore", says a source close to him, "So while Ek Tha Tiger is travelling continents and Sher Khan would be biggest ever adventure film to come out of Bollywood, Dabangg 2 is moving from a small town to a cosmopolitan setting while Kick would see some of the most unbelievable action ever."

No wonder Yash Chopra, Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan as well as Sajid Nadiadwala are leaving no stones unturned to make their respective films huge by all standards and come up with a product which is just the kind that bhai's fans would want.

"Isn't that pretty much understandable considering the fact that Salman is the only actor from past or present who has given three back to back Rs.100 crores plus grossers with Dabangg, Ready and now Bodyguard", comments a trade expert, "In fact Ek Tha Tiger is already being pegged at Rs.200 crores earner at the least since the package by itself is so huge."

Looking at the kind of curiosity surrounding Sher Khan and the fact that everyone is expecting an epic outing, Sohail has in fact delayed the film in order to get the right packaging in place. Ditto for Arbaaz who is waiting for the right time to begin Dabangg 2. Meanwhile, Sajid has already commissioned Kick to be shot in Korea.

"There is a lot of forward planning that each of his forthcoming films is currently involved in", the source continues, "Yes, Salman has done relatively smaller films like Main Aurr Mrs. Khanna, Kyon Ki and Lucky - No Time For Love but this is pretty much the story of the past. Today whatever he is picking up, it has to be larger than life. He can't be blamed either, after all stakes are so high for his films."

Guess when it comes to Salman the mantra is pretty much loud and clear - 'Make it large'!
